Is Crossfit dangerous?

The age old question. Unfortunately, CrossFit gets a bad rep due to un-informed individuals who like to talk loudly.

The truth is, CrossFit can cause injuries, as can any other type of physical activity. But CrossFit is not any more inherently dangerous than a different type of exercise that involves high-intensity movement and/or weight training.

What you really need to hear is that the benefits FAR outweigh the risks.

Do you not drive a car because of the inherent risk of getting into a crippling accident? No, you don’t. You still take the risk of driving because being able to drive gives you a ton of freedom and helps you get more tasks done, leaving more time for you to rest and relax at the end of your day.

In CrossFit, we limit the risk by providing quality coaching and choosing the correct scaling for each athlete.

Anyone who has done CrossFit for long enough can tell you how it has changed their lives for the better.

Many studies have shown that injury rates in CrossFit per 1000 hours of training are relatable to similar sports such as powerlifting, weightlifting, and/or bodybuilding. And in some cases, like running, the rate of injury is significantly lower for CrossFit.

Below are some links to helpful videos and articles that prove the point that CrossFit is NOT dangerous and that everyone can benefit from doing CrossFit.
