CrossFit Precipice turns 1 Year OLD!

The story behind CrossFit Precipice may surprise you. Owner and head coach Mel Washburn originally started CrossFit Precipice back in November 2020 (known then as Salus 360). She had left her corporate job at Gore in October 2020 to follow her passion of coaching CrossFit. She started by coaching one on one sessions out of her garage which quickly grew to “sessions with friends”, now known as group sessions.

Over the years, the gym space has undergone many makeovers: added equipment, elevated ceiling, a million and one reorganizations, painted walls, and garage door insulation. But the best additions have been all the members!

On May 1st, 2023, Mel decided to officially affiliate as a CrossFit gym and rebranded from Salus 360 to CrossFit Precipice. In the past year, we have added not only many new members to our family but also some badass coaches (Lisa Ray and Rene Horne).

Through this time, our mission has stayed constant: To provide a place where people feel safe, supported, and empowered to embrace their precipice in pursuit of becoming their best selves- physically, mentally, and emotionally. Obtained through fostering a tight-knit community, delivering elite coaching, and providing opportunities for all.

We are now coming up on our one year anniversary as an affiliated CrossFit gym and we’re going to celebrate it as a community the only way we know how to…. with a WOD!!

CrossFit Precipice (behind the name): Defined as a very steep side of a cliff or mountain, or a challenging situation that could lead to failure, a precipice is a place of choice. Every person comes to a point in their life where they are sitting at a precipice of change. At CrossFit Precipice, we are here to help unveil the courage and strength within you to face that change. Choose to lean in and see how you’ll grow. Face the challenge.
