To provide a place where people feel safe, supported, and empowered to embrace their precipice in pursuit of becoming their best selves- physically, mentally, and emotionally. Obtained through fostering a tight-knit community, delivering elite coaching, and providing opportunities for all.

The methodology

At CrossFit Precipice, the workouts are designed to challenge and grow you: physically, mentally, and emotionally. To achieve this, we utilize the CrossFit methodology, which can be summed up in six words: constantly varied, functional movements, performed at high intensity. Our programming includes training multiple general physical skills: cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, balance, accuracy, and agility. This type of training has proved to be one of the fastest methods to achieving fitness gains and will prepare you for the unknown obstacles life can present.

The Space

CrossFit Precipice is a garage gym located around the corner from Flagstaff Elks Lodge and Jay Lively Activity Center. The gym is fully equipped with dumbbells, kettlebells, lifting rigs, pull up bars, barbells and plates, rowers, ski erg, bike machines, medicine balls, boxes, and sled. An industrial fan and heater keep the space cool in the summer and warm in the winter. At CrossFit Precipice, we believe in building a trusting and positive environment in order to foster hard work and have fun.

We believe in a strong community built through diversity. Diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, physical/mental abilities, age, sexual orientation, and spirituality (to name a few). We strive to provide a space that is open, inclusive, and safe for all. In CrossFit we do hard things. Some of those hard things take years or even a lifetime to learn and perfect. No matter where we are at in our fitness journey, we strive to be humble and grateful for how far we’ve come and accept the challenges ahead. 

This means: no showboating, be open to feedback, accept where you are at, but strive for more 

Integrity- the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles

This is the willingness to do what’s right even when no one is looking. At CrossFit Precipice, we strive to do the right thing every time and own up to the times we fall short. 

This means: perform to the best of your abilities, work hard, count your reps, own your score, strive for virtuosity 

Perseverance- persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success

Any fitness journey is going to have its ups and downs and will require the need to dig deep at points to keep moving forward. We believe in the dedication to the pursuit of becoming better: through discovery, failure, growth, and change.  We are dedicated to the encouragement, support, and motivation of everyone in our community.

This means: keep after your goals, don’t give up, give yourself grace, continuously show up, have a desire to learn

Fun- enjoyment, amusement, or lighthearted pleasure

Although it may not seem like it when we’re in the middle of a hard WOD, fitness provides so much joy. At CrossFit Precipice, we strive to create and deliver the best hour of everyone’s day through cultivating a community that likes to have fun!
